10 second no sew craft or sew in 10 min your choice!

How do I have a sew AND a no sew? It depends on fabric. Felt wont unravel so you don't need to sew edges. A glue gun to put a button on or sew it on!This is so simple but so handy! I have a crazy cord on my iron that always takes up space. NO MORE fighting with a cord that wont stay put away with a handy strap! Patent not pending :D Here it is wrapped around the cord.

Here is the closeup of the button closure. I added a bit of bling with hot glue. Even if you sew on the button you can hot glue on top your stitches.

Here it is laid out. about 5 in long. Depending on size of button make your button hole at other end. I used felt and kind of opened the button hole so you can see it better. I used a random pc of felt I had from making lego darth vader capes. :D I whipped this up because i needed it at the moment but i think i will make a sewn one that might hold up better.

BTW sorry for it being blurry... i had camera issues that day :D

Rick Rack Cocktail Rings

Rick rack in color of your choice.

Braid it gently and sew one seam down the middle to hold the braid in place

Leave the end unsewn for tucking

the ends waving atcha :D

Go to micheal (LOVE THEM SO MUCH) go to the jewlery craft dept. rings come in a 3 pack they had   copper, silver, darkened siver or gold

keep winding the rick rack til it looks like a rose :) i practiced on a few before finishing it. to finish; use a dab of hot glue and tuck that end down and press. this makes the bottom the same color and smooths the edges.

dab of hot glue again and attach the ring!

see how the base is the same color and also that you can see the stitches from the side. i THOUGHT my light blue thread would blend more then it did. When i did red thread on a red rose you didn't even see the stitches!

here it is on my hand. the ring is for someone else so it is to small for my chubby hands :D

tried to do a close up so you can see the details

...I didn't do a very good job!
Cost of items:
Rick rack is apx 2.00 you need less then half so about .75
rings are 2.00 for 3 of them
less then 1/2 a glue stick

one ring = >2.00!!

One Way To Recycle

I HATE to throw away things that maybeeeeeee  can reuse. One such item is cans. I know i can recycle them but they are also so useful! One thing I really needed was a hairbrush holder. I had been using a  basket but it was to long for my kids short counter. Here is what I did:

1. Feed the kids some yummy corn. Washed the can. :D
I used faux leather on the bottom as it is the kids bathroom and i didnt want something that absorbed water or might cause a rust circle, as splashing is just the norm.I hot glued it down...a LOT.
I layed down the can to measure the can .I wrapped the can in the pleather while using hot glue to completely lay it down,
I wanted a countryish feel so i frayed the edges of my fabric. to do this find a string and pull, you can remove as many strings as you want to make it as frayed as you choose. i did about 4 strings on each side.
Then i wrapped that around and used a dab of hot glue to secure.
pre fray
 post fray :)

after fraying I made a bow. It is not perfect but i did pull any leftover strings to clean it up. I wanted it to have that country charm feel to it.
a small non frayed piece to make the bow a little cleaner
Look at the middle of the bow now, it is neater, but still has the country feel. A small dab of hot glue on the back is all it needed
Here it is loaded with hairbrushes. I thought it was funny that my daughters hairbrush made it look like they were peeking out at me as i took the picture.
cost for this project;

Scraps of fabric $0.00
can out of recycle bin $0.00
hot glue (2 mini sticks) $0.10 apx

TOTAL 10 cents :D I can work with that

Yup, i LOVE pintrest!

I could spend every day pinning but i really love to try and actually make an item look...right! I LOVE a ton of blogs that are all about pin FAILS like www.pintester.com or the pintrosity and OF COURSE www.craftfail.com but what about when a pin works? What about when you get a good idea that you wish someone had pinned? I love to craft but I don't have any fancy machines to cut or make things with, except my hands of course! I try my best to be fun and creative. I may also show foods that i made from pins as I actually cook many things i pinned. I hope you enjoy my journey and thanks for coming!
